About the Session:
- As part of the KIT Connect Initiative, a faculty interaction meeting was conducted with the faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department. The objective of this meeting was to create awareness about the activities and opportunities offered by KIT’s Innovation & Research Foundation, KIT's IRF and to strengthen collaboration with faculty members.
- At the beginning of the session, Dr. Khebudkar, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, formally introduced Mr. Sudhir M. Arali, CEO, KIT’s Innovation & Research Foundation, KIT's IRF, to the faculty members and briefed them about the purpose and subject of the meeting.
A Total of 18 Faculty Members participated in the session.
Session Highlights:
- The session focused on introducing the role and functioning of KIT’s Innovation & Research Foundation, KIT's IRF and its contribution towards building an innovation and startup ecosystem within the institute.
Key aspects discussed during the session included:
- Overview of KIT’s Innovation & Research Foundation, KIT's IRF (Vision, Mission, and Objectives).
- Working model of KIT’s IRF and incubation support mechanisms.
- Opportunities for faculty involvement in innovation and startup activities.
The meeting was interactive, with faculty members sharing their perspectives and showing interest in contributing to innovation-driven activities.
Outcomes:
- Increased awareness among faculty about startup ecosystem and IRF initiatives
- Willingness of faculty to support student innovation and startup activities
- Identification of potential areas for collaboration between the department and KIT’s Innovation & Research Foundation, KIT's IRF
- Strengthening of communication and engagement with the Civil Engineering Department
Conclusion:
The faculty interaction meeting was productive and set a positive direction for collaborative efforts under the KIT Connect Initiative. It will help in fostering an innovation-driven environment and encouraging faculty participation in nurturing student-led startups.
