Overview:
KIT’s IRF is planning to launch Ignition Grant 2025, an initiative aimed at supporting innovators and early-stage startups with science and technology-based ideas. The grant offers up to ₹10 lakhs to help transform promising innovations into working prototypes.
What to Expect:
- Funding from ₹2–10 Lakhs for prototype/product development
- Open to individual innovators and early-stage startups
- Ideas must be science/technology-based with commercial potential
- Prototype development to be completed in 12–14 months
- IP remains with the innovator or startup
Eligibility Highlights:
- Indian citizens aged 18+
- Startups incorporated in India (less than 2 years old, turnover < ₹25 Lakhs)
- Not open to pure software, e-commerce, or app-only projects
Allowable Expenses Include:
- R&D outsourcing, testing, raw materials, prototype development
- Patent filing, expert consultation, and limited travel support
