Overview:

KIT’s IRF is planning to launch Ignition Grant 2025, an initiative aimed at supporting innovators and early-stage startups with science and technology-based ideas. The grant offers up to ₹10 lakhs to help transform promising innovations into working prototypes.

What to Expect:

  • Funding from ₹2–10 Lakhs for prototype/product development
  • Open to individual innovators and early-stage startups
  • Ideas must be science/technology-based with commercial potential
  • Prototype development to be completed in 12–14 months
  • IP remains with the innovator or startup

Eligibility Highlights:

  • Indian citizens aged 18+
  • Startups incorporated in India (less than 2 years old, turnover < ₹25 Lakhs)
  • Not open to pure software, e-commerce, or app-only projects

Allowable Expenses Include:

  • R&D outsourcing, testing, raw materials, prototype development
  • Patent filing, expert consultation, and limited travel support
